All four Development Kits should have at least basic driver support on recent Linux distributions. A Quectel confirmed to us that only in very few cases you need to patch the existing drivers.
For Ubuntu/Debian system
sudo apt install modem-manager-gui

This also installs the ModemManager daemon and the CLI tool too
Start the Modem Manager GUI
Connect your Devkit with your computer via USB. Some of the Devkits have seperate power switches, be sure to turn them on (! the Quectel PCIE Kit even has to power switches)
It can take some time until the the devkits are running, when it's ready it should appear under "Devices"
